2001 National Book Awards
On Nov. 14, the National Book Foundation announced the winners of the 2001 National Book Awards. Jonathan Franzen's "The Corrections" won the fiction award, while "The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression" took home the nonfiction award.
Awards were also given for poetry and young people's literature, and Arthur Miller was honored for distinguished contribution to American letters.
