Walt Whitman Award

The Walt Whitman Award helps the winning American poet publish his or her first book. Winners receive a cash prize of $5,000, a one-month residency at the Vermont Studio Center and the chance to have their manuscript published. Winners are chosen by an different, eminent poet each year.
