Golden Kite Award

Since 1973, The Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators has annually presented the Golden Kite Awards to recognize excellence in children’s literature. Beginning in the 2006 competition, the awards will include cash prozes of $2,500 to author and illustrator winners in the categories of Fiction, Nonfiction, Picture Book Text, and Picture Book Illustration. Editors and Art Directors of winning books also receive $1,000.
